After graduating from the University of California at San Diego, I immediately entered the construction industry as an apprentice where I gained trade experience, skills and knowledge. As I learned construction techniques, I developed a solid work ethic on site, and quickly rose in the ranks to become a Licensed General Contractor in the State of California. I founded my own company - Palisade Construction in 2001.

While living in the mountain towns of Telluride, Colorado and Lake Tahoe, California, I worked in the high end custom home construction market where demanding clients kept high expectations. Palisade Construction operated as a full service construction firm delivering exceptional quality where unique projects presented complex challenges and attention to detail was paramount. Additionally, I provided opportunities for clients to “green” their project by offering solutions for increasing energy efficiency, reducing waste and raising the health quality of their home.

Concurrently, I served on the board of the Sierra Green Building Association, a non-profit organization that promotes environmental building practices and provides Green Building education and resources to local communities in the Sierra Nevada region. During my term as President, I lead the organisation through its rebranding campaign and its metamorphosis to broaden its market scope and to reach a wider segment. The successful implementation of the annual expo, home tour and printed publication were part of my deliverables in this role.

As a dual U.S. / Australian citizen, I moved to Perth to experience my Aussie culture and apply my talents within the resource industry in Western Australia. I found a niche as a Safety Advisor in the Pilbara working at various sites including BHP's Whaleback mine, BHP rail and port operations and the construction of the Roy Hill processing facility. My strengths in fostering powerful relationships enabled successful outcomes in the difficult task of balancing safety with production goals.

To pivot my own career, I returned to school to study business at Macquarie University Graduate School of Management in Sydney. I received my Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in 2016.

Most recently, I have been working with Solar Analytics, a Sydney based start-up with an innovative technology for solar monitoring. I have been able to directly apply the knowledge and skills gained from the M.B.A. coupled with my experience to drive marketing initiatives, formulate strategies for growth and develop business structure as the company prepares to scale. In this fast paced, agile environment I am enthusiastic about finding opportunity for business success, and have found that my diverse abilities can be put to good use.

In my off time, I volunteer with Wamberal Surf Life Saving Club, enjoy the outdoors and staying fit. I also love music.
